In the CNN South Carolina Town Hall meeting on Thursday Trump made the claim that “I’m a self funder. I’m not taking any money, OK?”

It is true that he is funding most of his own campaign. According to NBC News, he has loaned his campaign $10.8 million dollars and donated $100,000. However, he has accepted $2.6 million in donations from supporters and special interests, making the the claim that he is not taking “any money” simply untrue. Even if $2.6 million is chump change to Trump (Trump change?), that still qualifies as an amount of money that his campaign has received.
