The above photo from Twitter in 2015 is the closest that the public has gotten to a look at presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s taxes. As WDTLAY has covered before, Donald Trump is continuing to refuse to release his tax returns. He doubled down on Friday when pressed about releasing his tax rate.
When asked to release his tax rate during an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Trump said, “It’s none of your business…You’ll see it when I release, but I fight very hard to pay as little tax as possible.”
Donald Trump was also asked whether or not the public has a right to see his tax returns he returned “I don’t think they do.”
Does the public have a right to know about the business dealing of a Presidential nominee? Every other Presidential candidate since Nixon seems to think so, as they have all released their tax returns. Richard Nixon released his tax returns in 1972 while he was under audit.
